Single flip-lid structure
Core Structure

Single flip-lid structure

The single flip-lid box consists of body, lid and tuck tab, usually folded from one sheet of board. The tab at the front of the lid inserts into the front wall for simple closure. Despite its simplicity, it offers large print areas on both lid and body.

Design Points

Single flip-lid boxes are known for economy and practicality, making them the first choice for light-product packaging. Design must balance cost and experience: one-sheet forming saves material and labor, but tab length, lid proportion and window position directly affect protection and display. A well-considered structure makes even a simple box look refined.

01

Straight tuck lid: front tab inserts directly into body — most common

02

Curved lid: lid edge curved or shaped for added design interest

03

Window lid: partial cutout in lid with clear film to display product

Customization Tips
  • Common materials: 250–350 gsm white card or kraft paper, balancing print quality and cost
  • Tab length should be 1/3–1/2 of front-wall height for secure, pop-resistant closure
  • Window placement should avoid tabs and fold lines to preserve structural strength
  • Lid edges can be rounded or shaped to improve hand feel and brand recognition
