How to read the industry specification table
Work down the columns in order. Start with the typical structure — rigid box, folding carton or corrugated mailer — because the structure sets the tooling, the assembly method and the price floor. Then move to material and finishing, which decide how the box feels and how it prints.
Size comes last, and it comes from your artwork rather than from a stock list. Treat the size range in the table as a starting point: send your product dimensions, artwork and dieline and we confirm the exact footprint, depth and allowances as a custom specification.
Tolerances, sampling and colour control
Tolerances are locked before the run: colour to ΔE ≤ 2 across offset CMYK and Pantone work, dimensional accuracy to ±0.5 mm on length, width and height, and paper and board weight to ±5% of the specified GSM (per the ISO 536 basis-weight tolerance). Hot foil, embossing and spot UV are registered to the same artwork, and material and board grade are confirmed with you before printing starts.
Performance is verified against published test methods rather than adjectives: Mullen burst to TAPPI T-810 / ISO 2759, edge crush (ECT) to TAPPI T-811 for corrugated board, box compression to ASTM D642, and full-box drop testing to ISTA 1A. Sampling takes 3–8 days and mass production runs 7–15 working days after approval — nothing goes to press until you have signed off the sample, dieline and colour reference for that industry specification.
